Privacy Policy
This is the plain-English version of how we handle your information. We keep it short on purpose. If a section has a legal term, we explain it right there.
1. Who we are and what this covers
EDHAT Studios LLC ("EDHAT," "we," "us," or "our") is a Tennessee limited liability company based in Knoxville, Tennessee. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect on edhatstudios.com (the "Site") and what we do with it. It covers the Site's music pages, studio pages, email sign-up forms, free downloads, and product waitlists.
It does not cover any separate service or third-party website you reach through a link here. Those have their own policies.
2. What we collect
We collect only what you give us or what is needed to run the Site:
| What | When we collect it |
|---|---|
| Email address (and any name you choose to provide) | When you join our music/fan email list, join our producer email list, request a free download, or join a product waitlist (e.g., VIEW Vocal Suite). |
| Contact details and message content | When you submit the "tell us about your project" studio inquiry form. |
| Basic analytics (pages viewed, referring site, general region, device/browser type) | Automatically, through privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics. This is aggregated and is not used to identify you. |
| Bot-protection data | When you submit a form, our bot-protection tool (Cloudflare Turnstile) processes limited technical signals to confirm you are human. |
| Purchase/transaction details (future) | If and when we sell products, a payment processor (such as Stripe) handles your payment. We do not receive or store your full card number. |
We do not collect sensitive information (such as health, biometric, or precise-location data), and we do not ask for more than we need.
3. Cookies and tracking technologies
Here is exactly what runs on the Site and what it does:
| Technology | What it is | Does it set cookies? |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare Web Analytics | Measures aggregate Site traffic. | No. It is cookieless and does not track you across other sites. |
| Cloudflare Turnstile | Bot protection on our forms. Sends limited technical signals to Cloudflare to confirm you are human. | Minimal/technical only; used solely to stop spam and abuse. |
| YouTube video previews (via youtube-nocookie.com) | Embedded hover-to-play video previews. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced (youtube-nocookie) mode. | Yes — once you interact with the player. In privacy-enhanced mode, YouTube does not set cookies until you press play or interact with the video, at which point YouTube may set its own cookies under Google's privacy policy. |
| MailerLite (email) | Runs our email sign-up forms and sends our emails. | Our emails may include standard open- and click-tracking (a small tracking pixel) so we know whether messages are opened. You can defeat this by turning off image loading in your email app, and you can unsubscribe at any time. |
| Essential cookies | Basic site function and security. | Yes, where strictly necessary. |
Your controls. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) or "Do Not Track" signal, we treat it as a request to keep non-essential tracking off. Blocking cookies will not stop you from reading the Site, but embedded videos may not work as intended.

4. Our email lists
We run two separate email lists, both opt-in (you sign yourself up — we never add you without your action):
- Music / fan list — updates about releases, shows, and studio news.
- Producer list — tools, presets, plugin news, and technical content.
Consent basis. We send these emails because you asked to receive them (your consent) and, for existing customers, because they relate to something you bought or requested. We confirm sign-ups where our email tool supports it (double opt-in).
Unsubscribe. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. We honor unsubscribe requests promptly (and in any case no later than 10 business days, as U.S. law requires). Every commercial email also includes a valid physical postal address for EDHAT Studios LLC.
Canadian and other international subscribers. If you sign up from Canada, we rely on your express consent and identify ourselves in every message (consistent with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation, "CASL"). Wherever you are, you can withdraw consent at any time.
5. Free downloads (data-for-content)
We offer certain free downloads — for example, the Vocal Chain Starter preset pack — in exchange for your email address. When you request one:
- We use your email to deliver the download and to add you to the relevant email list.
- This is a fair exchange (content for your email), which you enter voluntarily.
- You may unsubscribe from the list at any time after receiving the download; the download is yours to keep.
The license terms for what you may do with the free download are in our Terms of Service.
6. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Deliver the emails, downloads, or waitlist spots you requested;
- Respond to your studio inquiry or support message;
- Operate, secure, and improve the Site;
- Notify you about products or releases you opted in to hear about;
- Meet our legal and tax obligations.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
7. Who we share information with
We share personal information only with the vendors that operate parts of the Site on our behalf ("service providers"), and only so they can perform that function:
| Vendor | Purpose |
|---|---|
| MailerLite | Sends our emails and runs sign-up forms. |
| Cloudflare | Hosting, security, bot protection (Turnstile), and cookieless analytics. |
| Payment processor (e.g., Stripe) (if/when we sell products) | Processes payments securely. We do not store full card details. |
| YouTube / Google | Serves embedded video previews you choose to play. |
We may also disclose information if required by law (for example, a valid subpoena or court order), or in connection with a sale or transfer of our business, in which case this policy would continue to apply to your information.
8. Children's privacy (COPPA)
Our music may appeal to a general audience, but the Site and its email sign-ups are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
If you are under 13, please do not submit your email address or use our forms. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.
We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and its amended Rule. Because we do not target children and do not knowingly collect their data, COPPA's parental-consent requirements are not triggered by the Site as it operates today.
9. Your choices and rights
We are a small business and, based on our size and volume, we are not currently required to comply with most U.S. state comprehensive privacy laws (which apply above revenue and consumer-count thresholds we do not meet). Even so, we voluntarily offer everyone the following:
- Access — ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction — ask us to fix inaccurate information.
- Deletion — ask us to delete your information (subject to records we must keep for legal or tax reasons).
- Opt out of marketing — unsubscribe from any email at any time.
To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We will verify your request by confirming the email address on file and respond within a reasonable time. We will not treat you differently for making a request.
(This section offers these rights as a courtesy. It does not represent that EDHAT is a "business," "controller," or covered entity under any specific state privacy statute unless and until applicable thresholds are met.)
10. International visitors
EDHAT Studios LLC operates in the United States, and our service providers process information in the United States. If you use the Site or join a list from outside the U.S. (including the EU or UK), your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection rules than your home country.
We are a small U.S. business and do not specifically target individuals in the EU or UK. Where we send marketing emails to international subscribers, we rely on your consent and honor withdrawal of that consent at any time. If you are in the EU or UK and have a concern, you may contact us first at [email protected].
11. Data security
We are a solo-operated studio and take reasonable, practical steps to protect your information:
- We rely on reputable, established service providers (such as Cloudflare, MailerLite, and Stripe) that maintain their own security programs.
- The Site is served over HTTPS/TLS encryption.
- Access to accounts and admin tools is limited to the owner and protected with strong, unique credentials and multi-factor authentication where available.
- We do not store full payment card numbers — payments are handled by a PCI-compliant processor.
- We collect and keep as little personal information as reasonably possible.
We do not claim enterprise measures we do not have (such as a dedicated security team or third-party penetration testing). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. If there is a data breach
If a security breach affects your personal information, we will notify affected individuals and any required authorities (such as the Tennessee Attorney General) within the timeframes required by applicable law. Our notice will describe, to the extent known, what happened, what information was involved, and what you can do.
13. How long we keep information
- Email-list data: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, plus a short period to process the request.
- Studio inquiry messages: kept while we consider or work on the project, then deleted when no longer needed.
- Transaction/tax records (if/when we sell products): kept as long as tax and financial-record laws require (generally up to 7 years).
- Analytics: aggregated and retained only as long as useful for understanding Site performance.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above and post the new version here. Significant changes will be noted clearly.
